Where these tools live

These gestures need the cursor on the page row (row 16, y==16) — usually in single mode — or a voice row for mutes. If the cursor is not on row 16, page-row edits do not run. Hint colours on row 1 tell you which encoder is armed — see Pages+More for the colour key.

Mutes

From a voice row (not the page row), long-press encoder 2 opens a transient mute overlay: while you hold it you can flip lanes; release to return. Short-press encoder 2 on a voice row toggles that lane’s mute and the flag sticks.

Mute overlay: muted lanes dim, active lanes bright.

On the page row, encoder 2 short is note-shift (single mode) — not mute. Step onto a voice row first if you want the overlay.

R-mode’s temporary full mute (encoder 1 on a voice row) is a different path — see Sequencing → R mode and SETTINGS → MUTE for the custom unmute set.

Note-shift

Note-shift moves real step data in time and across rows — it edits the pattern. There is no separate global “transpose” page: sliding pitch/row here is the in-grid transpose. To change pitch without rewriting steps, use detune and octave in Sound design instead.

Enter from single mode + page row with a short press on the white encoder 2. The firmware snapshots every other voice, then lets you slide only the focused voice. Hints switch to bright green (enc 1) and bright blue (enc 4). A grey marquee crawls on row 1 while you work.

Turn	Shift pitch / row	Moves the focused voice’s notes up and down across the whole pattern (wraps at the edges).

2 Encoder 2

Turn	Shift pitch on this page only	Same up/down idea, but only inside the current edit page.

3 Encoder 3

Short	Play / pause	Transport still works while shifting.

4 Encoder 4 · blue

Turn	Shift in time	Slides the focused voice left/right across the whole pattern (wraps).
Short	Exit	Commits the shift and returns to single mode.

From a voice row, encoder 2 short does not enter note-shift — the white cue on the page row is the reminder that this tool is page-row only.

Copy & paste

On the page row, encoder 4 short is copy / paste. Draw copies the whole edit page (all voices); single copies only the focused voice (you can paste onto a different voice after changing focus).

Copy armed

After the first encoder 4 tap, the page strip goes dark and the hints jump to large blue (enc 1) and large yellow (enc 4). That means the buffer is full — navigate to the destination page, then tap encoder 4 again to paste. Another tap while armed without pasting toggles the armed state off.

Short	Copy / paste	First tap fills the buffer. Second tap pastes onto the page (and voice, in single) you are on now.

Random & auto-fill

Where in-grid randomize works: single mode + cursor on the page row, with the red encoder 1 cue lit. Long-press encoder 1. On a voice row the same long press is erase-trail / other context — not randomize.

That long press writes a fresh pattern for the focused voice: scale-aware notes, density similar to what was already on the page. Repeat for a new roll; clear with encoder 1 short and try again.

Clear and randomize have no undo. If you wipe the wrong page, recover from whatever you last saved under FILE.

For multi-page generative fill, use ETC → AUTO in the menu — that one is a menu entry, not a grid gesture.
